Once upon a time, I got bored
In November and December 2025, I started going to multiple shows a week, mostly at the Shakedown and Wild Buffalo. By January 2026, I was out just about every night, sometimes bouncing between multiple shows in the same evening.
Before long, I was being welcomed into a family of listeners and artists, getting involved and making friends. But something I noticed early was the disconnect between groups and venues. People knew what was happening at their usual spot, but not necessarily across town. Sometimes the show they were missing looked like exactly their thing.
Finding the shows was its own task. Some venues used VenuePilot. Others posted flyers to Instagram or Facebook. The calendars I found either mixed music in with everything else or missed venues I cared about.
So what do I do when I get bored? Build a website about it. Duh.
What you’ll find here
I put the calendar together and write the notes. “My pick” marks a recommendation; the notes are whatever I have to say about a show. Sometimes that’s a review. Sometimes I’m just curious.
I won’t catch everything. Send me a show or a correction.
