This notice applies to the Bellingham Sounds website, operated by Bellingham Digital LLC, doing business as Bellingham Sounds. Our Privacy Policy explains wider information handling and your rights.
Your choice comes first
You can read the calendar and editorial content without accepting optional analytics or advertising. Audience analytics and Advertising are separate choices. Google Analytics and Meta remain blocked until you affirmatively permit their respective purposes. Continuing to browse, scrolling, closing a panel, or submitting a form does not give that permission.
The cookie preference bar has separate Analytics and Advertising checkboxes. Select the purposes you want, then choose Accept choices to save only those selections. Reject all refuses both optional purposes. Both boxes start unchecked without a compatible saved choice, and Necessary functions remain on. Use Cookie preferences, the 🍪 button beside Privacy & Legal in the footer, to change your choices at any time.
A choice applies to this service in the browser where it is saved. We remember accepted and rejected choices in browser local storage for up to 180 days, using the record bellingham-sounds.privacy.v1 to store the selected purposes, version, and expiry rather than your name or email. This period is our chosen setting, not a universal legal consent limit. Another browser, cleared storage, or a material change may require a fresh choice. If a valid saved choice cannot be read or saved, optional tools remain off.
A provider or purpose change requires a compatible fresh choice before collection. Preferences saved for the earlier configuration without Google or Meta do not authorize this integration.
What these technologies do
Cookies are small records stored in your browser. Related functions can use local storage, pixels, scripts, browser identifiers, or requests to another server. A technology can process information without storing a cookie. Calling a tool cookieless does not make its processing anonymous or necessary.
Requests can disclose connection and device information such as an IP address, browser details, a requested page, a referrer, and an identifier. Some tools are supplied by us and others by outside providers.
The sections below identify the providers, purposes, events, and browser storage used by this integration. A cookie's lifetime is different from the retention of event records or aggregate reports. Browser rules and provider settings can affect those periods; a provider's generic default is not necessarily a verified account setting for this service.
Necessary functions and security
Necessary tools support delivery of requested pages and forms, proportionate security, abuse prevention, and remembering privacy choices where offered. They are not used as a substitute for optional tracking permission. Marketing, audience profiling, and cross-site advertising measurement are not necessary to read the calendar.
Protected forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile. It evaluates browser and connection signals to distinguish people from automated abuse, and our server verifies the challenge. Cloudflare also processes signals under its Turnstile Privacy Addendum. Form notices identify the protection in use. Security processing remains limited to its security purpose.
Audience analytics
With Audience analytics permission, our code sends Google Analytics 4 a page-view event on approved general pages to help us understand site use. It uses an approved page address without its query or fragment, a fixed general page label, and no referrer value. Google's tag can also automatically generate basic first_visit, session_start and user_engagement events under this permission. Google processes network and device information and can derive approximate location. These records are not necessarily anonymous.
Our consent-first approach blocks Google analytics tags and measurement pings until you permit this category. Rejecting it does not authorize cookieless analytics pings. Audience analytics permission does not authorize Google advertising personalization. The scope described here excludes Google Signals, Google Ads links, User ID, remarketing audiences, and session replay.
This integration does not add click, scroll, form, search, purchase, or individual show-view events. We exclude subscriber addresses, private reply contacts, form contents, free-text searches, precise location, event and artist details, and confirmation or unsubscribe tokens. Contact, rights-request, API, confirmation, unsubscribe, and individual editorial-detail routes are outside the page-view allowlist.
Google Analytics uses first-party identifiers, including cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a stream identifier. Our website code configures their lifetime to 180 days, without renewing expiry on each visit; browser restrictions can shorten it. This is separate from account-side retention of user or event records. Google's retention controls do not govern every aggregate report, so we do not claim that all Google data is deleted when a cookie expires. See Google's cookie information, Google's retention explanation, and Google's Privacy Policy.
Advertising and outreach measurement
With Advertising permission, the Meta Pixel receives a PageView event on approved general pages to measure outreach from Facebook and Instagram. Meta also receives connection and browser information and identifiers. It may associate activity with an account or other information and use it under its own policies, including to personalize its services and advertising. The choice concerns disclosure to Meta as well as storage in your browser.
Our scope is this page-view measurement. The integration does not add automatic click or form events, upload subscriber or customer lists, enable automatic advanced matching, create retargeting lists of past website visitors, or send server-side advertising events. Expanded uses require further review, notice, and any additional permission required by law before collection.
Meta's cookie and identifier behavior can vary by service, browser, account, and whether you followed an advertisement. Meta can use browser identifiers such as _fbp; other identifiers depend on its service and the browser. Their lifetimes and Meta's retention of received information are governed by its service and settings rather than our 180-day preference record. Meta's own controls also govern information it processes independently. See Meta's Cookies Policy and Meta's Privacy Policy.
Some privacy laws call advertising disclosures a sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising, even without payment. Advertising is optional regardless of the label that applies. We do not sell newsletter addresses or private submission contacts.
Browser signals
A recognized Global Privacy Control signal keeps Advertising off for that browser, including an earlier enabled choice. Accept choices will not override the signal. Where the refusal can be saved, Advertising remains off if the signal later disappears unless you make a valid new choice. Audience analytics still requires its own affirmative choice.
Global Privacy Control does not subscribe or unsubscribe you from email. The older Do Not Track signal does not trigger a separate automatic response; the consent choices described above still apply. Browser settings may provide additional control, but blocking cookies alone may not stop every transmission of connection information.
Changing your mind
Use Cookie preferences in the footer to withdraw permission or choose Reject all. Your changed choice stops future optional collection through our integration. We clear accessible optional first-party identifiers we control and refresh when needed to remove already-loaded code. We cannot directly remove every cookie on another provider's domain or undo information already received.
Contact us through Privacy requests and legal contact if you also want to request deletion. Saved choices and any renewed request for permission depend on the offered tools, material changes in purposes, and applicable law. We do not make ordinary calendar access conditional on accepting optional tracking.
External services and email
Opening a Google Form, ticket page, social profile, music service, or other website takes you to a service with its own practices. Our website controls do not govern that service after you leave. An ordinary link does not itself install an embedded tracker on our page. Where embedded media is offered, we identify the provider and obtain any separate permission required before optional tracking loads.
Social account Insights and publishing integrations are distinct from placing a platform's advertising tool on this website. Newsletter signup is also separate from cookie choices. Accepting optional tools does not subscribe you, and rejecting them does not cancel a subscription. Our newsletter does not use opening pixels or individualized click tracking; delivery providers still process information needed to send mail and handle failures.
Changes and questions
We update this notice when the tools or purposes change and provide any required new choice before a materially different use starts. A revised notice or continued browsing does not supply consent. Contact us using the details below with questions or requests.
